Seek quiet life on the coast

Construction of the first units at Langebaan Manor will commence around October. Devmark Property Group’s new retirement village, Langebaan Manor, has recorded sales to the value of R170 million, proving once again that the West Coast is high on the list of those looking for a more relaxed lifestyle. According to Jean Ehlers, Director: Residential Development Division at Devmark Property Group: “The West Coast property market, which stretches from Yzerfontein in the south to Velddrif in the north and inland to as far as Darling and Hopefield, has recorded its best year in 2021 since 2015, with a 30% jump in sales year on year. It confirms a trend identified by Lightstone that homeowners leave cities and towns to seek a quieter lifestyle following the pandemic.” With civil construction and electrical services well underway, construction of the first units at Langebaan Manor will commence around October this year. “The 100 freehold homes and 26 sectional title apartments will be completed over the next 36 months, with the 25 serviced healthcare apartments expected to be available shortly thereafter,” he says.

Ehlers adds that buyers come from all over South Africa. “The semigration trend has not slowed down over the last two years, with retirees favoring the coastal regions. We’re also seeing growth in estate living, with many retirees opting for the convenience and security offered by these estates.” Langebaan Manor is situated in the center of the popular town, close to all amenities as well as the pristine white beaches surrounding the world-renowned Langebaan lagoon. The town offers excellent holiday facilities and experiences from golf courses to water sports, the nearby West Coast National Park to the West Coast Fossil Park. The development comprises authentic West Coast architecture with different house types and apartment types to choose from. Prices include both VAT and transfer costs. Langebaan Manor offers state-of-the-art security, affordable levies, a Frail Care and Assisted Living Centre as well as other amenities to give residents peace of mind and a stress-free lifestyle. Ehlers explains Langebaan’s appeal partly lies in the fact that it is a short drive from Cape Town and surrounds, and offers a truly unique coastal town lifestyle.

“Over the years it has developed into a fully-fledged holiday destination, but retained its small town appeal with its unique West Coast architecture and culture. The town has a relaxed atmosphere and offers all the top-quality amenities necessary for a comfortable and upmarket lifestyle. Langebaan is currently experiencing an unprecedented property boom, with many Capetonians making use of remote working options to permanently relocate. I honestly believe it’s the perfect retirement lifestyle and offers a very sound investment.”

Part of the Devmark Property Group’s Retirement Collection, Langebaan Manor is its ninth retirement village in 30 years. The group also has hugely successful retirement villages, such as Cle du Cap, Legato, La Vie Est Belle, Heritage Manor, Onrus Manor, Villa Cortona, Helderberg Manor and The Plettenberg Manor.

Those interested can visit the Open Day on Saturday, 20 August from 10:00 to 16:00.
