Rode Publications & Media | Devmark Property Group’s Imhoff Manor breaks ground

14 November 2024

Devmark Property Group, in a joint venture with Red Cliff Property, began external civil services and bulk service upgrades for its exclusive multi-million Rand retirement village, Imhoff Manor, in Kommetjie. Construction of the top structures is anticipated to start in the third quarter of 2025.

This development marks the company’s first venture in the Southern Peninsula of Cape Town and will be its tenth retirement estate. It joins a successful portfolio that includes Clé de Cap, Legato, Heritage Manor, Onrus Manor, La Vie Est Belle, Villa Cortona, and the more recent Helderberg Manor, The Plettenberg Manor, and Langebaan Manor.

Jean Ehlers, Residential Development Director at Devmark Property Group, says this retirement village will meet the increasing demand for senior living options. “Upon completion, it will feature modern homes designed for young and senior retirees and essential amenities for a secure, convenient, and comfortable lifestyle. The project offers a variety of unit sizes and competitive pricing to attract a broad range of buyers. Medical services will be in line with modern demands and technology and can easily be tailored to residents’ needs,” Ehlers explains.

He emphasises that there will be a strong focus on renewable energy for all units, with solar power generating electricity in common areas. The estate is expected to function as a medium-sized embedded generator, ensuring that residents will not face the challenges of unexpected load shedding or electricity shortages.

Phase 1 of this development, featuring 28 freehold homes, is set to welcome residents by 2026. These architecturally designed luxury homes start at 141 m², with prices beginning at R3.55 million. Each spacious residence includes two or three bedrooms and large patios. Buyers can choose from a variety of high-quality finishes and optional extras to match their personal style. The development also offers excellent communal amenities, including a clubhouse, swimming pool, and top-notch 24-hour manned security.

As with all their developments, the goal is to provide retirees with an exceptional and secure lock-up-and-go lifestyle. Ehlers continues: “Our residents lead active lives and seek modern, low-maintenance units equipped with advanced security features, as well as services like garden and house cleaning, affordable levies, and other amenities that promote peace of mind and a stress-free lifestyle.”
